With its large, bright screen, and a range of high-speed connectivity options and the enhanced Nokia Video Center, the new Nokia N96 is a personal window to entertainment.’

Accessing internet videos is quick and simple. The Nokia N96 supports common video formats including MPEG-4, Windows Media Video and Flash Video, making favorite videos easy to view. Transferring and accessing videos is even faster with the high-speed USB 2.0 connection and WLAN and HSDPA support.

The massive memory can store up to 40 hours of video content. The storage capacity of the Nokia N96 can even be further expanded with an optional microSD card, such as the new Nokia 8GB microSDHC Card MU-43 which increases the available memory of the Nokia N96 to a total of 24 GB. For added convenience, the Nokia N96 features a ‘kickstand’ on the back cover that allows for hands-free viewing.

For a superb music experience, the Nokia N96 features media keys, a 3.5 mm headphone connector and built-in 3D stereo speakers. The Nokia Maps application offers richer maps with urban details and satellite views and has upgrade options such as City Guides, turn-by-turn pedestrian mode and voice-guided car navigation.

The Nokia N96 boasts a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, flash and video light. It allows DVD-like quality video capture at 30 frames per second. Further, with the integrated A-GPS, consumers can now ‘geotag’ their pictures with location data and share them with their online communities. The Nokia N96 naturally supports the Ovi family of Nokia internet services, including maps, music, media sharing and more.

The North American N78 has a suggested retail price of $560 and can be found, as of today, at various retailers as well as in Nokia’s Flagship Stores from New York and Chicago.

Already available in Europe, India and other global markets, the new Nseries has now a US version that comes with quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) as well as dual-band HSDPA connectivity (850 / 1900 MHz), the latter allowing users to achieve high data transfer speeds (up to 3.6 Mbps) and to browse the Web with ease.

Presented as a flawless mix of “features and services”, the N78 weighs 101.8 grams, measures 113 x 49 x 15 millimeters and comes with the following highlights: a 2.4 inch TFT display (16 million colors and 240 x 320 pixels), a 3.2 Megapixel camera (with auto focus, flash, geotagging, Carl Zeiss optics and video recording), built-in GPS, A-GPS, Nokia Maps, Wi-Fi, full HTML browser, RSS reader, email and Instant Messaging, Music and Video players, a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, FM radio and FM Transmitter, Push to Talk and document viewer – all running on Symbian S60 3.2 OS.

While not as advanced as the N96 flagship (which should be released in the next months), Nokia N78 is surely a good smartphone that represents a viable option for those in need of a reliable and highly-featured mobile device.

Nokia 6301 is a candybar that resembles the old 6300 model. Weighing 3.2 ounces (91 grams) and measuring 4.2 x 1.7 x 0.5 inches (107 x 43 x 12.7 mm), the phone packs the following features: a 2 inch TFT display with 16 million colors and 240 x 320 pixels, Wi-Fi, T-Mobile myFaves, stereo Bluetooth, Music player (MP3, WMA, AAC and eAAC+ supported), FM radio, Instant Messaging, a 2 Megapixel camera, expandable memory (up to 4GB) and tri-band GSM connectivity (850 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with GPRS, EDGE and UMA.

Samsung T339 (or Samsung SGH-T339) is a fancy clamshell that comes after less than one week from the announcement of another Samsung clamshell, the weird looking T299. The features of T339 include: Wi-Fi, myFaves, a 176 x 220 pixel TFT display with 262K colors, Music player, stereo Bluetooth, Instant Messaging and expandable memory up to only 2GB. The new Samsung weighs 3.3 ounces (93.5 grams) and, when closed, it measures 3.62 x 1.83 x 0.78 inches (92 x 46.5 x 19.8 mm).

These new phones are stylish offerings for our customers who want to take advantage of unlimited nationwide calling and great wireless coverage – all for an affordable price,” stated Sajal Sahay, director of product marketing, T-Mobile USA, in a press release.

Although T-Mobile says the new Nokia and Samsung handsets are available as of today, both online and in select retail stores across the US, the carrier’s website doesn’t feature the phones and their prices are not known yet. Lazy workers in the “site update” department, eh?

Successor of the N77 model, which is still being sold, of course, the N78 was first announced back in February, during MWC 2008, together with Nokia N96, the Nseries flagship that should be released in the next few months.

In terms of design, the new N78 can’t really be considered attractive, having a classic candybar form factor. The only thing that actually stands out is its semi-flat keypad that, although it looks too small for a proper use, it’s friendlier than it appears to be.

While the design is not its strong side, the N78 can impress with its features. Among the highlights of the phone we have Symbian S60 3.2 OS, GPS, Nokia Maps, Wi-Fi, a 2.4 inch TFT display with 16 million colors and a QVGA resolution (240 x 320 pixels), Music and Video players, email, Web browser, Instant Messaging, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, FM radio, a 3.5mm headset jack, document viewer, expandable memory and so on. There’s also a 3.2 Megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, auto focus, flash, geotagging and video recording, providing about anything someone would want from a mobile phone camera.

Nokia N78 can be bought in India for 19,999 INR (470 USD or 300 Euros), which is far less than the price the phone was sold for initially, in Finland (700 USD or 450 Euros). Moreover, it’s even less than the official price announced by Nokia for the N78 (350 Euros), hence Indian mobile users are able to buy the handsets for about the lowest price in the world.

Although the new Nseries is currently launched only in a couple of countries, Nokia will surely sell the phone on all the important mobile markets around the world (North America included).

The concept of Nokia Scentsory can be considered as an overwhelmingly innovative one. It represents a mobile communication device that works with the senses of smell, sight, hearing and touch. So, besides basic audiovisual features, Scentsory is able to detect, transmit and emit smells as well. In addition to this it can also radiate colours, lighting, and temperature from the caller’s environment. The dual-screen mobile has a LED touchpad, speakers, hidden camera and temperature sensors. Nanotechnology has played an important role in the development of this original device. Using highly sophisticated sensors, the electronic ‘nose’ samples the odour of the caller’s environment and transmits it to the recipient electronically.

Given gadget has three different working modes that distinguish from each other according to the available functions. When the phone is in ‘flat mode’, the LED touchpad, two screens and stereo speakers for audiovisual calls are accessible. In ‘open mode’, two screens with a hidden camera and stereo speakers, interior scent detectors, emitter and exterior temperature sensors are exposed. In ‘closed mode’, the phone’s slim profile suits traditional voice calls. The LED screen on the lower folding surface alerts the user to incoming calls.

Thus, at present the creation of such a device seems to be unreal. Yet if this phone appears in the near future, it will be very popular for sure.
