Simple cell phone with no buttons

Some experts think that in near future we will go back to using simple devices. Even now there is a growing tendency to produce less functional, but very original things. This happens because there are people who don’t pay much attention to the amount of functions that a device has and the only criterion while buying something is design of the gadget. Cell phones are not an exception.

The given gadget is just of that kind. It’s absolutely different from all the things that you’ve seen before. Its novelty consists in the fact that there are no buttons at all. Instead of them it has holes. So to “push” a button you just need to stick your finger into the hole. This concept has a small display where dialing/calling numbers, time and date are indicated. It also has a phone book in order to simplify number dialing. In case you want to change any configurations you need to insert your finger into the “menu” hole. As you realize it’s very thin. Actually there is no information about its battery, but according to the small number of functions it’s possible to conclude that such a cell phone will be able to work for quite long on one charge.

Thus, those people who are bored with all the camera phones and smartphones can choose this gadget in case they want to use something simple and unusual. Moreover, it will be probably sold at quite a reasonable price. Yet, some may say that its lack of functions will force them to throw it away just in some days.

New Nokia nanotechnology concept phone

Looking at the functionality of the modern cell phones, it seems that something really innovative can hardly be designed. However some designers just go to show that their creativity knows no bounds. Kimberly Hu who created Nokia Scentsory concept phone can be reckoned among such designers as well.

The concept of Nokia Scentsory can be considered as an overwhelmingly innovative one. It represents a mobile communication device that works with the senses of smell, sight, hearing and touch. So, besides basic audiovisual features, Scentsory is able to detect, transmit and emit smells as well. In addition to this it can also radiate colours, lighting, and temperature from the caller’s environment. The dual-screen mobile has a LED touchpad, speakers, hidden camera and temperature sensors. Nanotechnology has played an important role in the development of this original device. Using highly sophisticated sensors, the electronic ‘nose’ samples the odour of the caller’s environment and transmits it to the recipient electronically.

Given gadget has three different working modes that distinguish from each other according to the available functions. When the phone is in ‘flat mode’, the LED touchpad, two screens and stereo speakers for audiovisual calls are accessible. In ‘open mode’, two screens with a hidden camera and stereo speakers, interior scent detectors, emitter and exterior temperature sensors are exposed. In ‘closed mode’, the phone’s slim profile suits traditional voice calls. The LED screen on the lower folding surface alerts the user to incoming calls.

Thus, at present the creation of such a device seems to be unreal. Yet if this phone appears in the near future, it will be very popular for sure.

"Green" technologies – Kinetic energy to charge cell phone

Nowadays different cell phone producing companies make a lot of efforts to prolong battery life of their products. But despite the fact that some of them achieved quite significant results in this domain, it’s still impossible not to charge your cell phone at all. Yet Ricardo Baiao is sure that an absolutely new approach to the problem helps to find the best solution. His idea is based on the usage of kinetic energy to charge the phone. Something of that kind is used in the kinetic watch.

Thus, the Atlas Kinetic Cell Phone concept focuses on “green” technologies without sacrificing design. It’s all made just of two materials: aluminum and glass. The central sapphire glass reveals the generating and charging unit. Power comes from kinetic energy similar to that found in watches that use oscillating weight to power mainspring. Due to the power source of this gadget it contains only basic features. So there is no digital camera, mp3 player, Dictaphone, games and so on. But in case the phone runs out of power because it was at rest for too long, the only thing you have to do is to give it a few upside down turns to get the kinetic rotors going again.

It seems that with this kinetic cell phone you will never have to worry about batteries. Yet before buying such a device think if you are ready to sacrifice all the functions that you have been accustomed to. A very original design of this gadget will probably contribute a lot to the final decision making.

Chanel Choco phone – first-class design!

The market of the exclusive cell phones develops no slower than that of usual ones. The reason for this consists in the fact that many reach and famous people prefer to buy very expensive cell phones of limited editions. Generally the only thing that distinguishes these original devices from traditional ones is their first-class design. An absolutely new cell phone by Chanel represents one of such exclusive devices.

The gadget called the Chanel Choco phone is a cell phone that has been designed by Fred de Garilhe. It works by “integrating an optical fiber system that displays image between two glass parts. There are 12 micro lighter fibers that project image components to the glass, enabling thus quite a good luminosity, and keep the mobile phone concept as light as possible. But all the lights appear just when you open the phone by pushing removable part on the side of it.” In addition to this given cell phone looks incredibly great standing for Madame Coco Chanel’s superb design sense. Actually on the first glance the gadget doesn’t seem to be a phone at all. When it is closed, it looks more like a piece of chocolate, but made from white, black, or yellow gold surface.

Thus, given cell phone has every prospect to success. Moreover, I think that it will be desired by many people, despite its price that will probably be quite a high one, because nothing of this kind has been created before.

Strap-Ya Sun power for extra talk time

Nowadays many people clearly understanding that all the major natural resources are very limited started to pay even more attention to the energy they use. Moreover some of them worry about their impact on the environment. As a consequence we try to use different alternative energy sources. It’s obvious that the easiest “green” power source which can be incorporated into many gadgets is that of the sun. Some practical solar designs for recharging phones have been already produced, however, the latest product from Strap-Ya looks much worthier.

This concept represents a solar panel that looks like a simple trinket. Yet it’s designed to prolong your cell phone’s work time. Despite the fact that the solar panel will not directly charge your cell phone, it will charge a small battery booster that can give your phone up to 25 minutes of extra life. It should be emphasized that this gadget is not supposed to be used for a full charge because you will need to wait between 6-10 hours of fair sun rays to do so. But it can help you a little bit in case of emergency. Besides that due to its small design it won’t occupy a lot of space, so you can let it hang out of your pocket.

The gadget has recently appeared in Japan. So in case you really need the spare power for your cell phone and like small useful things, you will be able to buy it soon.
